What you'd actually do

  • This committee manages all aspects of planning and coordinating the annual Gratitude Celebration  (which is held in November) and other district events. Here are some duties of the position:
  • Communications with district and area using designated email if available. Personal email may be  required for this position.
  • Choosing dates, times, and venues for events.
  • Coordinating speakers, needed equipment, menu/catering, and volunteers.
  • Handling ticket sales if applicable and promotion through flyers and communication with GSRs.
  • Managing financial matters, such as deposits, payment to vendors, and expenses in cooperation with  the district treasurer and alternate treasurer.
  • Working toward a goal of events being self-supporting through ticket sales, raffles, etc.
  • This position has a line-Item in the district budget consisting of a dollar amount recommended by the  budget committee then approved by district at the start of each new year, as “seed money” for the  Gratitude Celebration Event. Money will be used for initial set-up operations. It represents the starting  financial resources necessary to get the banquet off the ground.
