Puget Sound Central Service Office (PSCSO)
The Puget Sound Central Service Office (PSCSO) is an independent, non-profit service organization whose mission is to support the members, groups, and service committees of our seven districts — Districts 8, 10, 29, 42, 44, 60, and 64 — in fulfilling their twelfth step work.
What Does PSCSO Do?
- 24/7 Hotline — Provided through the Twelfth Step Service Committee (TSSC). Also publishes the When and Where meeting booklet and an online meeting list.
- Literature — Stocks A.A. books, pamphlets, birthday chips, and specialty coins available for purchase.
- Meeting Space — Physical space for groups, standing committees, and conference organizers, with hybrid options available.
- Newsletter & Website — Publishes a monthly newsletter and maintains a web presence for the broader A.A. community.
- Group Mailboxes — Provides mailboxes for all A.A. groups in the service area.
- Copy Machine — Available to A.A. groups to produce flyers and announcements at a nominal cost.
- And numerous other services to A.A. members and the greater community.
Who Runs PSCSO?
The PSCSO is governed by a Board made up of two directors from each of the seven districts, plus three officers (Chair, Alt-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Alt-Treasurer). The Board also includes two Bookstore Managers, an Office Coordinator, and a Website Manager.
The office operates under bylaws adopted on September 9, 2019, which are periodically updated as the Board requires.
How Can I Get Involved?
- Attend a Twelfth Step Service Committee (TSSC) meeting to learn about service opportunities at the PSCSO — answering calls and getting on the list for twelfth step and hospital visits.
- Attend a PSCSO Board meeting as a visitor (all are welcome) to see the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the office running.
- Consider applying for a service position on the PSCSO Board. Open positions are announced at the November meeting.
